Eating out
Spring roll party at a friend’s
$7 to contribute for ingredients like rice paper wrap, noodles, pork belly, shrimp, lettuce. It’s hard to wrap these things!
Monse’s Pupuseria (Colorado Springs)
One pupusa + side (opted for plantains), $9.45. People in line said the prices were expensive.. it was a big pupusa. I don’t know. Don’t really eat it often plus the location was in a downtown area.
Colorado Custard Company (Manitou Springs)
Apple pie avalanche, $5.95. With a real slice of apple pie and vanilla custard. I usually don’t opt for sweets on vacation but this was after the Manitou Incline (if you know you know).
5% discount if paying with cash…
The Rabbit Hole (Colorado Springs)
Debated about whether to go, but this was listed a few times as a top place to try. Trout, $34. It was a decent sized dish and thought it was good. Came with some asparagus.
Marketed as not just a pub. Goat Patch hazy IPA, $7.50.
Goodfriend Burger (Dallas)
Chili’d to the Bone burger, $13. Waffle sweet potato fries $3.50. I wish I skipped the fries because I was stuffed!! The burger was good. Big outdoor patio.
Work dinner. Got the two plate meat ($22.99) which each meat is 1/4 lb + 2 sides. Opted for wagyu brisket as both of my meats. Cole slaw and brussel sprouts.
Neither of the sides were good!! So sad. The wagyu was fatty.. as expected I suppose
Dry red wine tasting, $12. The grounds are on a church?? the vineyards themselves looked a little sad. My favorite was weirdly the merlot.
Bunk House Burgers (Canon City)
4 oz Slopper, a burger with chili and an open bun, $6.65. You chose the patty size and type of bun. Comes with chips as a side. Fries as an upgrade. Good price! Food was filling too.
Capital One Lounge at DFW
First time here around breakfast hours. Always like a good chia pudding! They have a breakfast sandwich, oatmeal. I can’t quite remember what else because I didn’t eat much since I was full from BBQ the night before. Took some sandwiches to go which I ate for some small snacks during my trip.
Total eating out spend: $101.93
Total weekly food spend: $121.25
Weekly reflection
3 day solo trip to Colorado Springs! So a higher spend week. Happened to have a work event too, so lots of eating out.
Wasn’t feeling very hungry on my trip despite all the hiking, so skipped some meals.
I need to get some more veggies….
